Smooth As I Wanna Be © 2019
Hello Music Fan’s, I’m so excited to be releasing my eleventh CD, Smooth As I Wanna Be. This CD has been in the works for about two years. As I was finishing up the last CD, 10, I had a few of these tracks and some new ideas that I didn’t want on 10. This CD represents my love for ballads, smooth jazz and blues.
The title track, Smooth As I Wanna Be, I know great title, is a great smooth jazz track with a great groove and very cool melody and solo. Next, Never Another Love Like Ours is great example of the style and genre I feel ballads fall into. I love the melody and chorus and orchestration of this track and its smooth easy feel. The track I Can’t Say Goodbye, I started many years ago but struggled to find the right sound, orchestration and mood for this track. I believe I finally nailed it with this one. With Strangers In Love, my brother Keith, was working on this track and passed it on to me to finish. I love this beautiful ballad, it’s simple and clean and just feels right. The track No More Tears, started with me experimenting on the guitar, trying to create something like, what you hear when listening to just Native American flutes but with a acoustic guitar. From there came this haunting and beautiful track.
The track The Sun Is Shining is a fun summer time get outside and enjoy the sun track. I love the picking and chord changes in this track. For those that need something a little heavier with a little more of an edge. The tracks Don’t Mess With Me and Why Do I keep Running Back To You fall into my blues and, what I call Jazz/Funk genres, these tracks feature some very cool power chords, driving drums and mean solos.
I hope you enjoy this CD, Smooth As I Wanna Be, as much as I have, writing and listening to it. And remember, Without Music Life Has No Soul.
