Book review: The Last Mile

Book review: The Last Mile, David Baldacci.

This review is of the amazing book The Last Mile by David Baldacci. The Last Mile is the second in what I hope will be a long series around this character Amos Decker. In this follow-up to Memory Man, Decker has joined the FBI along with his now new partner, Alex Jamison as part of a special task force headed by Special Agent Bogart.

On the drive to his new life with the FBI at the Quantico facility. Decker happens to hears a news story on Melvin Mars. Decker’s perfect memory takes him back to playing against Mars in college, each play crisp in his perfect memory and the day Mar’s was arrested for killing his parents. The story reports that after spending two decades in prison, someone else has come forward and confessed to their murders.

Once Decker is at Quantico, they start going through the possible cases Bogart has brought. Having memorized each case, Decker convinces them to take the Mar’s case. A case that is much bigger then anyone ever thought.

This one is a real page turner people and I really enjoyed reading it. I can’t wait to see if Baldacci continues these characters. On my scale of 1 to 5, 1 being don’t bother and 5 a true page turner. I give  The Last Mile a solid 5. This is a most read I’m sure you will enjoy.

The tracks playing are from my new album I’m gonna let it ride” and R.E.’s Style I hope you enjoy
